Chinese Culture Among the Oldest in the World: CTA DG Habibullah Arif

Peshawar:September 30, 2025: Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (CTA), Habibullah Arif, has said that Chinese culture is one of the oldest and deepest cultures in the world, encompassing a 5,000-year-old history rich with traditions, philosophy, arts, literature, and civilizational values. The core of Chinese culture revolves around harmony, balance, hard work, family system, respect for elders, and collective well-being.He stated that Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism have had a profound impact on China’s social and moral system.

He expressed these views during his visit to the Chinese Cultural Center “China Window” in Peshawar. The Director General visited various galleries of the center, signed the Friendship Wall, and wrote his remarks in the guest book.
Speaking to the media, Habibullah Arif said that Pakistan-China friendship is not only strong at the economic and political levels but is also growing on cultural foundations. He emphasized that cultural exchanges bring the people of both countries closer, remove misunderstandings, and promote mutual respect and cooperation. In the context of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he stressed the need to further expand cultural cooperation to strengthen people-to-people relations. Institutions like China Window Peshawar, Chinese Cultural Center Islamabad, and Confucius Institutes in various universities of Pakistan are promoting Chinese language, arts, and cultural activities. Similarly, Pakistani students and artists in China are introducing Pakistani culture there.

Habibullah Arif further said that these cultural ties not only strengthen friendship but also serve as an important means of people-to-people diplomacy.
He suggested that both countries should organize joint cultural festivals, art exhibitions, media exchange programs, and educational collaborations so that “Pakistan-China friendship” becomes not just a slogan but a practical example.

Earlier, the management of China Window briefed the Director General about Pak-China cultural relations and Chinese cultural activities.
