Senior Journalists from Dera Ismail Khan Visit China Window

PESHAWAR: A delegation of senior journalists from Dera Ismail Khan, comprising Saeedullah Marwat, Iqbal Bhatti, Irfan Mughal, Shaikh Tauqeer Akram  and Abu Shan, visited China Window, the state-of-the-art Chinese cultural and information centre in Peshawar. Adnan Khan welcomed the delegation and briefed its members on the  b various activities and initiatives being undertaken by China Window to promote Pakistan-China friendship, Chinese culture and greater people-to-people contact between the two countries. The visiting journalists toured different galleries of the cultural centre and showed keen interest in the exhibits highlighting China’s history, culture, development, technological achievements and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The delegation appreciated the efforts of the organisers and described China Window as an important platform for strengthening friendship and cultural understanding between Pakistan and China. Speaking on the occasion, the journalists said that Dera Ismail Khan holds great economic and strategic importance because of its proximity to the Daraban Special Economic Zone. They observed that an improvement in the security situation would enable Dera Ismail Khan to play a significant role in the successful implementation of CPEC projects.

They added that the development of the Daraban Special Economic Zone could attract investment, generate employment opportunities and contribute significantly to the economic growth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The delegation stressed the need for peace, improved infrastructure and greater investment in the southern districts of the province so that the region could fully benefit from the opportunities being created under CPEC.
