ANP Views Pak-China Friendship as Vital for Regional Peace and Development: Amir Bahadur Hoti

PESHAWAR: August 25, 2026: Awami National Party (ANP) Punjab Secretary General Amir Bahadur Khan Hoti has said that Pakistan-China friendship has stood the test of time and that the Awami National Party not only values this relationship highly but also considers it extremely important for peace, economic development and prosperity in the region. He stressed the need to further expand political and diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, along with people-to-people, cultural, educational and trade ties. He expressed these views while talking to the media during a visit to China Window, the Chinese cultural and information centre in Peshawar. Amir Bahadur Hoti also visited different galleries and showed keen interest in photographs and material highlighting Chinese history, culture, development and Pakistan-China relations.

Speaking to the media, Amir Bahadur Hoti said the Awami National Party has always supported peaceful, friendly and mutually respectful relations with neighbouring countries. He said China is one of Pakistan’s most reliable friends and that relations between the two countries go beyond governments and political changes, as they are firmly rooted in strong people-to-people bonds.

Referring to the Communist Party of China (CPC), he said China’s remarkable development is the result of long-term planning, continuity of policies, discipline, a strong focus on public welfare and commitment to development. He said interaction and exchanges between political parties in Pakistan and the Communist Party of China provide valuable opportunities to learn from each other’s experiences. Stronger party-to-party relations, he added, can also contribute to further strengthening state-to-state and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and China. Amir Bahadur Hoti said the CPEC has the potential to create new opportunities for development, employment, industrial growth and regional connectivity in Pakistan. He stressed that the benefits of CPEC should reach all provinces and regions of the country, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and less-developed areas, so that ordinary people can experience tangible improvements in their lives.

He said the Awami National Party believes in peace, development and regional cooperation and considers improved connectivity among Pakistan, China, Afghanistan and the Central Asian states important for the economic prosperity of the entire region. Trade and investment, he said, can flourish only in an environment of sustainable peace, making collective efforts against terrorism and instability essential.
