Peshawar:January 15, 2026: (China News): President of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Peshawar, Junaid Altaf, has said that trade relations between Pakistan and China are as strong and stable as the Pak-China friendship itself, expressing confidence that Pakistan will continue to receive full support from brotherly neighboring country China for improving its economy. He expressed these views during his visit to the Chinese Cultural Center, China Window, in Peshawar. Senior Vice President of the Chamber Muhammad Nadeem and Vice President Sabir Bangash accompanied him. During the visit, they toured various galleries of China Window, signed the Friendship Wall, and recorded their remarks in the visitors’ book.

Junaid Altaf said that although law and order challenges exist in Peshawar and other parts of the province, the situation is not so severe that it would discourage investment. He noted that many countries face similar conditions, yet their economies continue to grow. He expressed optimism that strong economic activities would take place across the province, including Peshawar, and that after the establishment of Special Economic Zones, not only local but also foreign investors would invest in the region. He emphasized that for economic development and public prosperity, Pakistan needs to learn from China and benefit from the transfer of technology. He added that the establishment of the Rashakai Economic Zone would create employment opportunities for millions of people and open new avenues for trade.

The SCCI President welcomed trade between Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and China, expressing hope that commercial ties between the two countries would further strengthen in line with their enduring friendship. He said that celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of Pak-China friendship this year would clearly demonstrate that the friendship between the two countries is everlasting and will continue to grow stronger in the future. Praising China Window, Junaid Altaf termed it a notable center of Pak-China friendship and expressed satisfaction that it has gained recognition not only across Pakistan but internationally as well. He paid tribute to the organizers for raising public awareness about China and for playing a positive and constructive role in strengthening Pak-China friendship.
