Lausanne (Switzerland) , April 13, 2026: Amjad Aziz Malik, Administrator China Window Peshawar and President of the Pakistan Sports Writers Federation and a distinguished senior sports journalist of the country, has been elected as a Lifetime Honorary Member of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS). The honor was conferred during the 88th AIPS Congress held in Lausanne, Switzerland, which was attended by representatives from 111 countries around the world.
Alongside Amjad Aziz Malik, four other senior sports journalists from Japan, Spain, Malta, Brazil, and Türkiye were also awarded Lifetime Honorary Membership in recognition of their more than a decade-long services to AIPS.
Amjad Aziz Malik is the first Pakistani in the 102-year history of AIPS to receive this prestigious honor. This recognition not only acknowledges his personal contributions but also marks a historic milestone for sports journalism in Pakistan.
Secretary of the Pakistan Sports Writers Federation, Muhammad Asghar Azeem, congratulated Amjad Aziz Malik on this remarkable achievement, stating that his selection is a matter of pride for the entire nation, particularly for the sports journalism community. He added that this honor will further enhance Pakistan’s positive image globally and strengthen its presence in the field of sports journalism.
Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday congratulated President of Pakistan Sports Writers Federation and senior sports journalist Amjad Aziz Malik on being elected as a Lifetime Honorary Member by the International Sports Press Association (AIPS). The Governor said that the prestigious honor was a recognition of Amjad Aziz Malik’s personal dedication, professional excellence and valuable contributions to the field of sports journalism. He termed the achievement a matter of pride not only for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but for the entire country. He said that receiving the honor during the AIPS Congress held in Lausanne, Switzerland, reflected the growing international recognition of Pakistani journalists and their professional capabilities. The Governor expressed hope that Amjad Aziz Malik would continue to promote sports journalism with the same commitment and play his role in bringing further recognition to the country.
