Gandhara University VC, Frontier Model School MD stress greater educational, cultural and language exchanges with China
PESHAWAR: August 07, 2026: Vice Chancellor of Gandhara University, Professor Dr. Ejaz Hassan Khattak, and Managing Director of Frontier Model School, Yawar Naseer, visited China Window in Peshawar and highly appreciated its role in promoting Pakistan-China friendship through cultural, educational and people-to-people exchanges. The two distinguished educationists were briefed about the objectives, activities and achievements of China Window and visited its different galleries showcasing Chinese culture, history, development, CPEC and the long-standing relations between Pakistan and China.
They described China Window as a state-of-the-art cultural centre and an important symbol of the enduring friendship between the two countries. They said institutions of this nature could play a significant role in bringing the people of Pakistan and China closer, particularly the younger generation. The visitors were also briefed about the free Chinese-language courses being conducted at China Window, including HSK-1 and HSK-2 programmes. They were informed that hundreds of students have already benefited from these courses.
Professor Dr. Ejaz Hassan Khattak appreciated the initiative and said learning the Chinese language could create new academic and professional opportunities for Pakistani students. He stressed the need for greater cooperation between Pakistani and Chinese universities through student exchanges, faculty interaction, joint research, seminars and academic programmes. Yawar Naseer said schools and colleges should also be encouraged to participate in cultural and language programmes so that students could develop a better understanding of China, its culture and its people.
During a media talk, both educationists said Pakistan-China relations were based on mutual trust, respect and decades of close cooperation. They expressed confidence that cultural and educational ties would continue to grow stronger through regular exchange programmes and greater interaction between students, teachers and academic institutions of the two countries. They noted that several successful cultural exchange initiatives had already demonstrated the value of people-to-people contacts and said such activities should be further expanded. Professor Dr. Ejaz Hassan Khattak and Yawar Naseer also appreciated China Window for organising seminars, cultural events, exhibitions, language courses and awareness programmes related to Pakistan-China relations. They said China Window had emerged as an important platform for cultural and public diplomacy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and was making a valuable contribution to strengthening the historic friendship between Pakistan and China.
