CPEC’s Second Phase to Boost Pakistan’s Economic Growth: Sheikh Muhammad Tanveer

PESHAWAR , July 30, 2025: Patron-in-Chief of the United Business Group (UBG), Sheikh Muhammad Tanveer, has stated that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a proud symbol of Pak-China friendship. He expressed confidence that the recent visit of Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to China and his meetings with top Chinese leadership will pave the way for a promising second phase of CPEC, which will significantly contribute to Pakistan’s economic and industrial progress.

He made these remarks during a visit to the Chinese cultural center, China Window, in Peshawar. He was accompanied by former President of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Haji Afzal, and President of the Kasur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kashif Khokhar. The businessmen delegation toured the state-of-the-art galleries of China Window and showed deep interest in its displays.

Army Chief’s Visit to China Sparks Optimism for CPEC Phase-II

Sheikh Tanveer appreciated the Army Chief’s focus on trade and investment, calling it a clear indication that the state is serious about promoting commerce and attracting investment alongside the government. He noted that the first phase of CPEC has been successfully completed, and the upcoming phase will see industrialization and technological transformation, leading the region toward economic prosperity.

CPEC to Usher in Era of Industrialization and Jobs in Pakistan

He further stated that CPEC will attract not only Chinese but also global investment, creating employment opportunities for millions. Sharing insights from a recent high-level meeting with the Army Chief, Sheikh Tanveer said that industrial development was discussed in depth and that the business community feels assured their concerns will be addressed on a priority basis.

Praising the ever-strengthening ties between Pakistan and China, Sheikh Tanveer emphasized that the bond between the two nations has withstood the test of time and will continue to grow. He hailed China Window as a landmark initiative in Peshawar symbolizing Pak-China friendship and expressed hope that such efforts will further enhance people-to-people connections.
