PESHAWAR: March 09,2021A veteran politician, former senator and ex-Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that the Pak-China Friendship was the exemplary reflection of a guaranteed developmental vision of this region. The brotherly and neighbouring nation, the People’s Republic of China has always helped Pakistan in every hour of its difficulties, and, “we too as a nation never disappointed our arch friend as well” he said. The pictorial exhibition on Xinjiang province of China, he said, is truly a matter of great encouragement towards promoting better understanding at people level about the relevant ground realities.
He was talking to media persons after having inaugurated the exhibition at the Peshawar based China Window wherein the city, Kucha of the Xinjian province have been focused. The China Window has arranged the 15-day exhibition in collaboration with the cultural centre of the Islamabad based embassy of the People’s Republic of China and China Cultural Center Islamabad. Almost seventy different pictures have been displayed at the exhibition which is being keenly observed and witnessed by a large number of people from cross-sections of the society.
The former Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while commenting about the event described its presentations a memorable development in the provincial capital, Peshawar in particular. Meanwhile talking to the media persons, Eng. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra also highlighted the importance of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). While mentioning Xinjiang province, he said, it is a very beautiful region with abundantly available scenic views and natural beauty. “One may witness deserts on the one side while on the other, there are snow-capped high mountains”, he remarked. The region, he added, is also famous for having the sky view reflecting deep lakes and flowering gardens. The Xinjiang province, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said is also famous for its tremendous production of various fruits. The region enriched with natural beauty is also hosting very polite and hospitable people, he said. All this, he added, makes this region, home of a highly rich heritage and cultural wealth and the pictures displayed at the exhibition are the correct reflections of its beauty.
Meanwhile, it was told that the aim of hosting the exhibition is to remind the famous stanza – Neel ke Sahil se liker ta ba khake Kashghar (From the coasts of Neil to the land of Kashghar) – excerpted from the rich poetry of the Poet of East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal. A vast Muslim population is inhabited in the province and for their spiritual satisfaction; a large number of mosques are also available where they may freely offer their prayers. The Muslim population of the region is also enjoying a prosperous life. At the end of his visit to China Window, Eng. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra expressed the confidence that while highlighting the natural scenic beauty of Xinxiang, the negative impression being created in Europe about it will also be dispelled. Surely, he remarked, the China Window will be able to act as a platform to project the beauty of the region more effectively.
