APMF Delegates Witness BYD’s Amazing Manufacturing Technology in Shenzhen

SHENZHEN:September 04, 2026: (Amjad Aziz Malik):  Delegates of the Asia-Pacific Media Forum (APMF), representing more than 42 countries, visited BYD in Shenzhen today and witnessed first-hand the company’s remarkable technological development, advanced manufacturing capabilities and innovative approach to the automobile industry. The visiting journalists were given a detailed briefing on BYD’s history, research and development, manufacturing processes, new-energy vehicles and global expansion. The scale of the operation and the level of technology left a deep impression on the international media delegation.

One of the most impressive aspects of the visit was BYD’s highly advanced manufacturing system. The company has integrated research, design, batteries, electric motors, electronic systems and vehicle production into a highly coordinated industrial chain. This strong vertical integration enables BYD to develop many of the key technologies used in its vehicles in-house.

BYD is not simply an electric-car manufacturer. Its product portfolio includes battery-electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, passenger cars, SUVs, MPVs, commercial vehicles, buses, trucks and specialised new-energy vehicles. The company also develops its own power batteries and other core automotive technologies. The scale of BYD’s production is equally remarkable. In 2025, the company sold 4.602 million vehicles worldwide, making it one of the world’s largest new-energy vehicle manufacturers. Overseas sales of passenger vehicles and pickup trucks exceeded 1.049 million units, with BYD’s new-energy vehicles reaching customers in 119 countries and regions.

The company has achieved extraordinary growth in a relatively short period. In December 2025, BYD produced its 15 millionth new-energy vehicle, and by July 2026 it had reached the historic milestone of its 17 millionth new-energy vehicle—becoming the first company in the world to reach that figure.

During the visit, the delegates were particularly impressed by the way technology is incorporated into every stage of vehicle development and manufacturing. Automation, intelligent production systems, advanced battery technology and strict quality-control procedures demonstrate how modern Chinese manufacturing is moving towards increasingly smart and efficient production.

BYD’s technological strength is also reflected in its massive investment in research and development. The company invested RMB 63.4 billion in R&D during 2025 and has a global team of around 120,000 R&D personnel, demonstrating the importance it places on innovation and technological advancement. For the international journalists, the Shenzhen visit was more than a tour of an automobile company. It provided an opportunity to see how technology, manufacturing, research and innovation are combining to transform China’s automobile industry and strengthen its position in the global new-energy vehicle market.

The APMF delegates described the experience as amazing and eye-opening, saying that seeing BYD’s technology and manufacturing capabilities in person provided a much clearer picture of the speed and scale of China’s technological development.I can also make this into a .stronger front-page newspaper report with a headline such as “42-Nation Media Delegation Amazed by BYD’s Technological Revolution”
