Peshawar, November 04, 2025: Pakistan’s legendary squash player Jansher Khan has said that sports competitions should be organized between Pakistan and China so that Pakistani athletes can avail the best opportunities to play and further polish their skills. He expressed these views during his visit to the Chinese Cultural Center China Window in Peshawar.
Jansher Khan, who won the World Squash Championship eight times and the British Open six times, visited various galleries of China Window, signed the Friendship Wall, and recorded his impressions in the visitors’ book.

He remarked that China has made remarkable progress in the field of sports. In China, sports are treated as an industry, which is why the country has emerged as a global power in this domain. China’s prominence is not only evident in the Olympics and other international competitions, but it has also used sports as a means of diplomacy, culture, and public health promotion. Jansher Khan said that by hosting the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2022 Winter Olympics, China showcased its sporting capabilities and organizational strength to the world. China frequently ranks among the top three nations on the Olympic medal table. He emphasized that the development of sports is part of China’s state policy, and therefore, Pakistan’s government should also benefit from China’s experience in this sector. He stressed the need for more sporting events between Pakistan and China and highlighted the importance of learning from Chinese coaches.

The squash legend, who dominated the world rankings as the number one player for over a decade, described the Pak-China Friendship Center in Peshawar as a masterpiece of bilateral friendship. He said that just as Pak-China friendship is everlasting, the love and affection between the peoples of both countries is unforgettable, which calls for further strengthening of this bond.
Jansher Khan also paid rich tribute to the organizers of China Window for playing a positive and constructive role in promoting Pak-China friendship. On this occasion, the former world champion was presented with a souvenir to commemorate his visit.
