Peshawar: December 24, 2025: (China Window News): Bishop Ernest Jacob said that Christmas is the sacred day marking the birth of Hazrat Isa (Jesus Christ, peace be upon him), which conveys the message of love, peace, sacrifice, and service to humanity. He said this day reminds us that a civilized and strong society is one where the emotions, beliefs, and happiness of others are respected. Today’s event is a beautiful example of the fact that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, people of all religions and communities are living together with mutual respect and brotherhood.
He expressed these views while addressing a Christmas ceremony organized by the Chinese Cultural Center, China Window, in Peshawar. Religious leader Allama Muhammad Shoaib, educationist Dr. Sarfraz Khan, businessman Imtiaz Ahmed, renowned writer and poet Kulsoom Zaib, and a large number of people from various walks of life attended the event. On this occasion, a Christmas cake was also cut.

Bishop Ernest Jacob said that the Christmas celebration is undoubtedly a festive occasion that the Christian community celebrates with great enthusiasm. Joyful carols are sung, and Santa Claus distributes gifts among children. He added that the purpose of these celebrations is simply to rejoice in the birth of Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him). He also expressed gratitude, on behalf of the Christian community, to the provincial government, which considers the protection of minority rights and participation in their joys as its responsibility.
Religious leader and Ambassador of Peace, Allama Muhammad Shoaib said that minorities are an important part of our society, and their development, prosperity, and dignified life are essential for our collective stability. He said that minorities in Pakistan enjoy equal rights, and both federal and provincial governments are providing all possible facilities to minority communities, as it is understood that minorities also played an unforgettable role in the creation of Pakistan. This is why their festivals are celebrated across the country with enthusiasm.
Distinguished writer, poet, and intellectual Kulsoom Zaib said that Christmas provides an opportunity to share in each other’s happiness. Just as minorities participate in Muslim festivals, it is our responsibility to join in their celebrations as well. She described the promotion of religious tolerance as extremely important for the betterment of society.

Educationist Dr. Sarfraz Khan and business leader Imtiaz Ahmed said that minorities have always rendered commendable services for the survival and integrity of Pakistan, and they are confident that minorities will continue to play their role alongside others in the progress and prosperity of the country in the future. They congratulated the Christian community on Christmas and expressed hope that the message of love, peace, and brotherhood of Christmas will continue to spread throughout society.
The speakers said that China Window is not only a symbol of friendship, cultural harmony, and mutual respect between China and Pakistan, but also plays an important role in promoting dialogue, tolerance, and harmony among different religions, cultures, and communities. Such institutions help unite society and spread a positive message.
Later, the Christmas cake was cut, joyful carols were sung, and Santa Claus distributed gifts among the children.
